Compliance Tasks turns every HIPAA control into a dated, owned piece of work. The result is that policies, training, access reviews, and backup tests happen on a calendar — not during an audit.
What it does
- Translates each required and addressable specification into a recurring or one-time task.
- Assigns owners outside the compliance team: engineers, HR, facilities, and finance each see only their work.
- Captures completion as evidence automatically — a task closed is an evidence file with a timestamp.
- Reports overdue, upcoming, and completed tasks at the control level so trends are visible.
How it maps to HIPAA
The task engine supports §164.308(a)(1)(ii)(B) risk management (treatment plans that actually get executed), §164.308(a)(1)(ii)(D) information system activity review (log review on a cadence), §164.308(a)(5)(ii)(A) security reminders, §164.308(a)(7)(ii)(D) backup testing, and §164.308(a)(3)(ii)(C) access termination — each as scheduled, documented work.
Where it fits
Tasks are part of the Compliance Management module. Each closed task feeds the Evidence Management store; overdue tasks show on the Compliance Dashboard.
