Broad multi-framework automation versus healthcare-specific depth with services and assessments included.
Where we are different
- HIPAA depth, not HIPAA as a checkbox framework. Patient rights workflows, disclosure accounting, four-factor breach assessment, and psychotherapy notes handling are product surface here, not a control checklist item.
- Expert services in-house. Implementation and Virtual HIPAA Officer are ours, not a marketplace referral.
- Independent assessments. We issue the third-party report; broad-platform vendors point you to an audit firm.
- Price lock. Published pricing with a 3-year lock instead of usage-based renewal increases.

When to choose Vanta instead
- You need a dozen frameworks and HIPAA is the smallest of them
- Your buyers only ever ask for SOC 2
- You already have a mature GRC function
We would rather you buy the right thing than churn in month four.
What buyers actually get wrong
Teams evaluate these platforms on integration count. Integration count is a proxy, and a weak one. The questions that predict whether you will pass a real customer audit are: Is our risk analysis current and asset-based? Can we produce evidence with dates? Can we show who acknowledged which policy version? Do we have a signed BAA for every vendor touching ePHI?
Score both vendors on those four. The evaluation scorecard below does it for you.
