SuperHIPAA vs Compliancy Group

HIPAA-first platform vs HIPAA-first platform: published pricing, in-house services, and independent assessment reports compared.

Administrative safeguards Physical safeguards Technical safeguards Privacy rule Breach notification

Compliancy Group is one of the longest-running HIPAA-focused platforms in the market, and like SuperHIPAA it is a healthcare-first vendor rather than a general-purpose GRC tool. The question for most buyers is not which one covers HIPAA — both do — it is how each handles pricing transparency, delivered services, and the independent assessment report customers increasingly ask for.

Where we are different

  • Published pricing, locked for three years. Every plan price is on the pricing page, with no “contact us for a quote” wall. Compliancy Group pricing requires a sales conversation.
  • Services delivered in-house. Gap assessments, risk analyses, implementation, and a Virtual HIPAA Officer are delivered by our own healthcare compliance team, with fixed fees published alongside the software.
  • Independent third-party assessment reports. We produce a dated assessment report you can hand to an enterprise customer, an insurer, or an investigator. A platform’s own “seal” is not the same artefact.
  • Multi-framework on one control set. Add SOC 2 or ISO 27001 later without re-implementing. HIPAA-only is a feature until a buyer asks for SOC 2.

When to choose Compliancy Group instead

  • You need OSHA tracked alongside HIPAA in a single platform, and OSHA depth matters more than SOC 2 room to grow
  • You prefer a long-tenured HIPAA-only vendor with a large installed base in small practices
  • Published pricing is not a hard requirement for your procurement

We would rather you buy the right thing than churn in month four.

What buyers actually get wrong

Teams compare these platforms on module count. Module count is a proxy, and a weak one. The questions that predict whether you will pass a real customer audit are: Is our risk analysis current and asset-based? Can we produce dated evidence on demand? Can we show who acknowledged which policy version? Do we have a signed BAA for every vendor touching ePHI?

Score both vendors on those four. The evaluation scorecard below does it for you.

Questions

Is Compliancy Group HIPAA-only?

Yes. Compliancy Group markets itself as a healthcare compliance platform focused on HIPAA, with OSHA and SOC 2 add-ons depending on package. SuperHIPAA is also HIPAA-first but extends the same control set to SOC 2 and ISO 27001 without a second vendor.

Does Compliancy Group publish pricing?

Not publicly on their site as of our last check (October 2026). Pricing requires a sales call. SuperHIPAA publishes every plan price on the pricing page with a 3-year lock, so you can budget before any conversation.

Can either vendor make us HIPAA certified?

No. HHS operates no HIPAA certification programme. Both vendors can issue readiness or assessment documentation, but neither can confer certification — that word is a marketing shorthand you should treat with scepticism from anyone who uses it.

What about their 'Seal of Compliance'?

Compliancy Group markets a 'Seal of Compliance' which is their internal verification mark, not a government-issued or industry-recognised certification. It is useful as a vendor-neutral badge; it is not evidence that OCR or an enterprise security team will accept in place of an independent assessment report.

Can we migrate from Compliancy Group?

Yes. Migration is included: we import your policies, training records, BAAs, and risk documentation and map them to our control set. Typical migration is two weeks and there is no fee.

Is this comparison biased?
